About Us

     When my husband, Mark, retired from Kraft Foods after 33-years, we moved from Bement, Illinois to Phoenix, Arizona. Mark enrolled in Motorcycle Mechanics Institute to work on Harley-Davidson motorcycles in his retirement. He is currently employed as a technician at Andrae's Harley-Davidson in Urbana, Illinois.
      While living in Phoenix, I couldn't bring myself to interview for another Administrative Assistant
office job. I enrolled in It's A Dog's World School of Grooming. I excelled and graduated in January 2006. Two-days later, I was employed as a pet stylist at Academy West, a vet clinic in Glendale, Arizona. I had been around dogs all my life, loved grooming my American Cockers, and I had gone all breed and finally answered my calling.
      After Mark graduated from MMI, we returned home to Bement. We purchased our building in November 2006, and opened Beggin' Fur A Brushin' Dog Grooming on January 30, 2007.
     Your dog sees the groomer more than they see the vet. My mission is to work with my clients toward health and beauty for their pet because grooming is not just for aesthetic purposes. I take pride in the fact that my shop is a specialty shop. Time is spent getting to know your dog, prepping your dog, and checking your dog for any possible health concerns. From start to finish, I am the only one who works on your dog while using premium, natural products. Your dog does not leave my shop until they look like I would have my dogs look, and I'm pretty darned picky about My Girls.
     I am a registered member of National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA) and International Professional Groomers (IPG). I continue my education by attending workshops, and I groom to AKC standard. I've also been certified in Pet CPR. I set high standards for myself and my business, all to better serve you and your pet.
     Don't expect your dog to be done in an hour. I have my stress free routine for your pet, and everything that should to be done will be done. I do not take shortcuts. Your dog will be treated with love and respect, while they are being pampered. They will be handled just like they are one of my dogs, and I am passionate about My Girls!
